I love flour sack towels for their history and many household uses. Flour sack towels are modeled after the thin woven cotton bags that flour and grains used to be packed in, which were re-used as towels.
These towels are thin, low-lint, and usually measure larger than standard kitchen towels. They can be used for food prep, like covering rising dough and gently drying tender herbs and berries.
Their practicality doesn’t end in the kitchen. They can be used for dusting because they are extremely soft and will not scratch wood surfaces. They are also the perfect size to fold and display in a table setting or hanging over your oven or dishwasher. My grandmother uses them to cover and keep bread warm.
